Ghostwriting and business communications services

Ghostwriting services

'I will get your book out of you...!'

I will very often come across those with busy lives - 'with a book in them'.

We very many of us walk around all the time with unique thoughts, perspectives and ideas.  I will put these into words for you - galvanise your book into being.

This will include development of content 𝘢𝘯𝘥 structure (as the latter is often the sticking-point).  Where possible and appropriate, I will also assist with developing a USP or a slant which will make the book 'talkable' - which in turn is the key to a book which will sell itself.

Will be delivered as a Word document.

An NDA will be signed at outset.

Non-Fiction only

What you bring to the table

You bring your thoughts and ideas, and their backstory and how it all came about.  Also if wished - your own story as well - this would form part of the Introduction, oftentimes.

What I bring to the table

Then you will set me off to go write your book!

This process will be quite collaborative at points, as new ideas or questions occur to me, which I'd have to run by you.

Often the bookwriting process itself can cause the nature and direction of the original vision to alter.  This is a very fluid and organic part of the process, and it is this part which often yields the most powerful and potent results.

Normally I find that what might normally be a 'draft' - is just straight-off signed off by the client.  This is partly down to my own passion for the art of writing, as well as my rigour and attention to detail (obviously including vocabulary, spelling and grammar).

I am quite adept also at depicting you in 'your voice' - people who know you will read it and recognise it 'as you'.  Certainly though - you might want the opposite and assume a voice which doesn't necessarily reflect the everyday you.

Once it's written - you'll have a Word document ready to deploy into your chosen publishing path.

Important note - My service stops at 'writing' - and doesn't go into publishing - for a reason.  I've learnt an important lesson from my previous life of helping start-ups .  Start-ups/new authors rarely view things from the position of assumed worldwide success.  Whether it be contracts or agency agreements, royalties, etc - it's all viewed and assessed from the position of being a newbie.  However - the dynamic would very much shift if said book were to become a worldwide best-seller.

In this type of scenario, you need to minimise how many people can come out of the woodwork - now that your book is worth millions - and try to claim their part of the pie.  Sure - you have to trust people in the end - but don't put everything in one place, and try to do yourself as much as you can - precisely to minimise scope for anyone trying to claim rights over your success.  The use of a ghostwriter is pretty much a necessity unless you're a writer yourself - but I advise my clients first over how to prove copyright timeline, as part of working with me.  The rule though is - outsource as little as possible.  It's 2022 - and you shouldn't really have to outsource anything - between the excellent resources on YouTube and Amazon publishing - you should be sorted.

Business communications

I have been creating business communications for more than a decade now - translating into words the client's vision of their company, their product or service, and their team.

𝘈𝘭𝘭 business communications are important - be that to your investors, other Directors, or your staff. There are often instances where an issue could be quelled with simply the words used - an awareness of the psychology behind effective communications is the key.

I have reversed Companies House rejection scenarios where they took issue with a Sensitive Business Name - allowing my client to proceed with a name and brand they had their heart set on.

I can provide assistance with all business communications - to your clients, to outside stakeholders (e.g. investors and assuaging their concerns during rough times), 'infrastructural counterparties' - e.g. your bank or other facilitative institution, to internal parties - and of course dealing with correspondence from the Regulator where you are Regulated.

Example - 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭

On one case I picked up on the use of the word 'complimentary' in a Terms of Business document - whereas the intended word was 'complementary' - one denotes 'for free', the other denotes 'comes with something else (that the customer purchases)'. This related to insurance product description. Had this not been picked up it would have potentially cost the client thousands (legal written commitment to provide something for free).

In business communications - words (and tone) are everything.
